Have you tried the smoothie bowl trend yet? My munchkin and I are completely hooked. We took our favorite smoothie and turned it into the most delicious tropical green smoothie bowl!
Tropical Green Smoothie Bowl
We’ve been on a major health kick in our house for the past month or so….I mean, we’re normally pretty healthy, cooking at home, regular workouts, etc. But, there’s no time like the present to get in the best shape and health of your life. So we have been kicking it up a notch.
One of the ways we’re accomplishing this is planning ahead and meal prepping or batch cooking. Mornings are where we struggle the most here. We get up early but we move pretty slowly and really enjoy relaxing, especially since our baby girl joined us. Prepping some tropical smoothies to stash in the freezer helps us stay on top of things a little better on those days when we can’t afford that lazy morning luxury.
The Health Boost
The tropical fruits in this smoothie give the body a major dose of vitamins and minerals. A great way to start the day! Here’s a few things that maybe you didn’t know…
- Pineapple has anti-inflammatory properties, can help with digestion and detoxification, and will give your immune system a boost.
- Due to their specific antioxidant properties, mangos help fight leukemia, and breast, colon, and prostate cancers.
- Coconuts contain electrolytes which are essential to helping your body absorb water keeping it hydrated. They also have vitamin B, which fights the blues.
- Papayas help with liver function, and are touted as one of the best fruits for digestion. They also help kill parasites in the body.
- Bananas are one of the best fruits for muscle health due to their combination of potassium and magnesium. They are also one of the healthiest natural sweeteners.
- Chia seeds are considered a power food for good reason! One sentence can’t do them justice. They contain fiber, and protein and vitamins, fight cancer, turn the clock back on your skin, and so much more. Read more about them in 5 Reasons You Should Eat Chia Seeds Every Day
