Fresh Homemade Lemon Ginger Tea is one of my favorite comforts. There is just something wonderful about curling up with a cup of Lemon Ginger Tea and a book that takes all the tension away.
It’s no secret that drinking warm lemon water has numerous health benefits, but add some ginger and honey to it and those benefits really go through the roof.
Did you know ginger is in the same plant family as turmeric and cardamom? (I didn’t know that until I sat down to write this piece. Ya learn something new every day!)
With the growing number of people having issues digesting their food, ginger is an essential ingredient to have in your arsenal! It helps promote digestion and nutrient absorption and can relieve nausea. Ginger also boosts your immunity and is anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory
This Homemade Lemon Ginger Tea recipe makes 4 servings. As it’s herbal tea, it counts towards your water intake for the day (Woohoo!) Sometimes it’s hard to get in all 8+ glasses a day, especially in cold weather.
The form you have selected does not exist.
Where I live it’s cold 9 months out of the year (that’s how I got my blog name…formerly “Chronicles Of A Cold Texan”) There are some days I feel like I live off this tea come winter time.
I know it sounds silly but serve it in a pretty tea set and it tastes even better. Why does everything taste better when it looks nice? Like my tea set? Get the Tea Posy Daydream Pot Here
Make Fresh Homemade Lemon Ginger Tea:
*Amounts of ingredients are just a guideline – you can add as much or as little of each as you like and still get the health benefits.
Ingredients:
- 4 cups water
- juice of 1 lemon
- 1 inch of ginger, peeled and thinly sliced
- honey to taste (I use about 1 tsp)
Directions:
- Heat your water just to the point of boiling.
- Add your sliced ginger to your tea pot or strainer. Pour the hot water over the ginger.
- Stir in the lemon juice and honey
Enjoy this warm comforting tea. It will both refresh and heal the body.

I really love lemon and ginger tea. I always have them in tea bag form, but I am feeling inspired to make fresh one. Thanks for sharing and happy Fiesta Friday!
Thanks for stopping by! The bag kind has benefits too, but I find the flavor of the fresh is a bit zippier
How delicious Ashley… I often have this for breakfast but I never thought to make it in such a pretty pot! Thanks for sharing at Fiesta Friday 🙂
Thank you <3
Lemon Ginger Tea sounds divine! I am fighting the first head cold of the season and this is calling my name! We are hosting the Whisk It Wednesday Link Party and thought you might want to share there too! Have a wonderful week! Carrie@ Carrie’s Home Cooking
Awww, I hope you feel better, this will for sure help. I think I live on this stuff when I feel under the weather. You could add a pinch of turmeric or colloidal silver in it to give it a boost if you’re feeling sick 😉 I’ll for sure check out Whisk It Wednesday!
Thank you so much for sharing on the Whisk It Wednesday Link Party. Make sure you stop by tomorrow and join us again! Hope that you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Carrie @ Carrie’s Home Cooking
Thank you so much for sharing this recipe. I’m looking for healthy alternatives for me and my husband, who has been ill for the last 7 months. I’m so done with all the medications and I believe in my heart that he can be better with a healthy diet. I’m adding this tea to our daily routine.
I’m so sorry he’s been unwell. Medications can be a bit frustrating, nutrition can go a very long way to lessen, if not eliminate, the use of pharmaceuticals. I hope he has a speedy recovery!
