It’s getting to that time of year when everyone starts thinking about the changes they want to make to their life next year. It may seem intimidating to make major changes to your life all at once. There are many easy, healthy new year’s resolutions to kick start your year.
A good way to start your year in a healthy way is to begin with small changes. Remember, you can set new goals all year round, not just on January 1st. Here are a few examples of easy ways to start tracking your health goals.
Easy Healthy New Year’s Resolutions
Create a workout schedule
If your objective is to work out more often or more effectively, begin by creating a weekly fitness schedule to follow. Include diverse workouts that you enjoy so you don’t have to worry about getting bored of each exercise.
Incorporate workouts at home, at the gym, at a class, and out in nature, if possible. Some days, your exercise might be something as simple as taking your dog for a walk in the park. Try to stick to the plan every week and change it up every couple months if you need something new.
Use healthy substitutions in your meals
A simple trick to help eat healthier is to substitute certain ingredients in your pantry for healthier options. For example, try using quinoa for your recipes in place of rice. Small changes like this to your grocery list will make it much easier to cook a healthy recipe when you go to make dinner each night.

Invest in products to boost your health
You may tend to spend your extra cash on clothes or eating out, but try setting a certain amount of money aside each month to use towards buying items that will improve your wellbeing. Whether it’s a set of essential oils and supplements you’ve had your eyes on or a face mask that is supposed to work wonders, treat yourself to items that will benefit your body. There are a bunch of new companies online, like hims and goop, that are making access to health products easier than ever before.
Drink Enough Water
According to professionals, you should be drinking about half a gallon of water each day. Our bodies are constantly losing water throughout the day and it’s necessary to drink enough to replenish these fluids. Come January 1st, it’s a good idea to start measuring how much water you’re drinking. Apps like Plant Nanny are an easy and fun way to make sure you’re drinking enough.
